we left at 5 am saturday morning...dropped jack off at my sisters, picked up matt&veronica, and headed out for williams AZ! it was a llooooooonnnggg day.. we got home around 9 that same night. somuchfunandsomanygoodmemoriesicouldcry. not really. the whole no spacing thing kindofbugsme. lolol. anyway, bye.

Catch up

October:
Jack opened up his poopy diaper in his crib. He played in it. And ate it. And smeared it everywhere. And threw it across the room. That was a nightmare.

November:
Jack had issues with his penis. We took him to the doctor and they kept referring to his penis as his 'pee pee' which was kind of annoying. Aren't they the professionals? Anyway, the doctor is looking at it and she says, "hmm.. he must've had a MASSIVE ERECTION last night and that caused his adhesion to break off from his circumcision.." Really??? Did you just pull out the phrase MASSIVE ERECTION after calling his wiener a pee pee? Such a strange day.. it was like he was re-circumcised. Poor kid.

December:

sometimes when i feel like punching a hole in the wall i watch this video. i watch it when i feel sad, confused, angry, unmotivated, tired, pathetic, happy, reminiscent, lazy, bored, etc. i truly believe it helps me. i can look back and see where i started, see where i came from. it helps me put things in perspective. it helps reassure me again and again over and over and over. it is telling me...

carrots have never looked sweeter.

Having a baby is life changing. It is one of those things no one could have prepared me for. A baby is more than a cute tiny perfect person to dress in cute tiny clothes and have a cute perfect nursery for.
REALITY CHECK:
Babies poop, pee, vomit, soak, and destroy most things they come in contact with. Ohh, hey mom..I know you've been so excited to dress me up in this cute outfit, but guess what? It is 150 degrees outside and this is totally an unacceptable outfit. Oh? You're going to put me in it anyway? Well, today seems like a good day to clear my bowels and vomit up those nasty prunes you fed me for breakfast. Hey, at least they worked, right? By the way mom, I love you.

Goodness, jack wears the same seven onesies every week and the curtain for his window may or may not be a green Christmas blanket reading 'Ho ho' held into the wall by five (5) thumb tacks. Jack is 8 months now and I still feel like I'm trying to catch up to where I was before he came and made me a happy momma.
Becoming a righteous mother is becoming selfless.
I've never loved anyone more. I can't even describe it.

I have a friend named Annie. She knows me better than most. I love her...and I will soon tell you why.

I received an email from her today. This picture was attached. Naturally, this picture reminded her of me. Ohhh, I miss you. I love my best friend Annie. I love the relationship we have. I love that she knows me so well. I love that she was there for me when I truly felt no one else was. I love that I know we will always be friends even if we don't keep in touch all that often. I love that our friendship is so real and not forced. I love her stubbornness and that she (secretly) loves mine. I love that she is a genius. I love that she is beautiful. I love that she sings like an angel. I love that she is experiencing so much right now. I love how mature she is. I love when she asks me for advice. I love my annypoo.

I can't decide if I love it or hate it. Maybe I love it so much that I hate it? Maybe I love to hate it? Who knows. All I know is that I don't know where I'm going to be next year.

Tyler graduates may 2012 and there is a slight chance we may move away. I've lived here 21 years. Never been gone longer than 3 weeks. Pathetic? So what. I'm happy. But...I think it would be good for me to get out of my bubble.

My shell. My little world I've lived in for so long. I need to have new experiences somewhere else. I have such a desire to see new and different things. To meet strangers and have them become my away-from-home family. To see the seasons change. To feel scared I won't make new friends. To call my mom and beg her to come stay with me. To start fresh.

Tyler's First Post

I know that Becky normally does the blogging, but she insisted that I do it today, and since I don't have the excuse of homework, I guess I kinda need to do it.

School has been out for about a week and it has been super nice to be home and just spend time with my wonderful wife and sweet son. It's a little weird to not have a homework assignment haunting my thoughts, but nice too.

There are a few things that I really love in this world, at the tip top of the list is my family. Here are some pictures of Jack. We got new phones a while ago and have been taking pictures with them like mad, and 99% of the pictures have been of Jack.

This first picture is of him a couple months ago before we headed out to church.

This next one is him a couple nights ago in the tub, people have said that he has slimmed down a bit, but it is hard to tell that from this picture.

We got some family pictures taken a little while back too, and here is one of my favorites. One of my buddies took the pictures, and I think he did pretty good. Jack's face is pretty much hilarious.

All in all I feel like I am pretty much the luckiest guy in the world. I also love the gospel, climbing, and little cars. Simple ones. Like this little Austin Healey Sprite.

And did I mention climbing...?

Climbing wins for so many reasons. First it is just way fun, and challenging. It is physically demanding and mentally as well, like a puzzle. Plus you get to be out in nature, hopefully away from all of the pollution. And, as an added bonus, it is great exercise. That picture is at Mount Graham last summer, which is pretty much the nicest place in Arizona.

But with that I've pretty much covered my bases, except for this picture of the world's gnarliest Nacho Cheese Dorito.

Yes that is copious amounts of cheese powder. One of my co-workers bought a bag which had 5 chips and one big cheese ball in it. He ended up complaining to Frito-Lay and getting 2 coupons for free chips. I ended up taking a little bite of this. It wasn't as bad as you would think. I do think that my heart stopped beating for a moment, but I felt better after a couple hours.
